William breaks M55 1000km World Record

More news in from Athens

I just had another phone call from William, to tell me has just set a

new M55 World Record for 1000 kilometres.

I don’t know exactly what time William set for his new 55+ age group World Record but William tells me that the old record has definitely been broken.

The main reason for the lack of an exact time for the 1000 km is that William has insisted Alan gets some rest – ever a hard worker, Alan has been burning the candle at both ends and in the middle with the result that William is insisting Alan gets some sleep and takes some time off.

William will therefore be running for the next 24hrs without any crew – and while William tells me he’ll be phoning with any important news, please understand if updates are a irregular during this time – I am sure it will be hard enough running in the 1000 mile race, especially without crew support,  without the added burden of keeping the blog updated as well (!).

William sounded very happy, relaxed and decidedly upbeat when we talked, although having now run 1001 km / 621.99 miles, William was off for a rest having now set two new age-group World Records during the event.

More news as  get it,
