The preliminary results are now in – this basically means the chip results showing the number of complete laps run by the athletes, the exact full distances (partial laps) will be measured by hand and published a little later.

William came in 1st with a distance of 517.85 miles / 833.4 km (plus whatever the partial lap distance may be). William won the race by a “comfortable” margin of approximately 55.5 miles / 89km (more than the distance of 2 marathons).

I’ll give an update on the final complete distance & the status of any records as soon as I have word from Alan or Gyula in Hungary, but at this point everyone’s first concern will be looking after the athletes (and of course holding an award ceremony!).
