Last Wednesday I fulfilled an invitation to be the Orkney Primary Schools Athletics Championships’ “Sporting Champion” for the day. This involved giving a 10 minute presentation to over 200 primary kids plus teaching staff and parents at the Pickaquoy Centre in Kirkwall.

I then watched the Championships mingling with the various school teams, answering lots of questions and finally presented the prizes.

A great day out and a unique experience for me.
