Off to Sweden for a 48 Hour track race

On Tuesday I leave Sanday for my first visit to Sweden, for the Skovde UltraFestival comprising a range of races from 1hr up to the 48 hour which I’m doing.  A select field of 16 will attmept the 48 hour race incl the French mega distance runner Serge Girard and the Richard and Sandra Brown from England.

I’ll be attempting to better my 48 hour track performance from last July’s Cologne 48 Hour World Cup event which I won with 207.9 miles.  If I can do that I will set another series of track records.

That event was run on a cinders track which drained very poorly in the 12 hours of torrential rain.  The Skovde Festival will take place on a good quality all-weather track which is well drained.

Thanks to ULTRAFitnessTraining.com’s Shaun Brassfield-Thorpe, there will be updates on this blog throughout the event which starts on Friday 24th at 11am UK time.  It finishes at 11am UK time on Sunday 26th.
