Richard Brown, veteran ultra distance runner from the UK, takes a bit of time off from the 8-Day race to load up on carbs in the form of his birthday cake.

Richard is celebrating his turning 65 years old tonight – and we all wish him many happy returns. Last position/distance I had for Richard was at 147hrs+ when he was in 18th place with a distance of just over  321.5 miles / 517.5km.

This creates the slightly unusual situation that Richard started the race in the M60 category (Male aged over 60) but should probably now be in the M65… not sure how that works officially… only in an ultra….
