Let’s have a look at the old scoreboard…

Courtesy of Alan,  shot of the race leader board at 8hrs,16mins into the race.

As it happens, William doesn’t bother to look at the race board when running.

Rather than squinting at the board as he trots past and attempting to quickly memorise the times/distances William relies on the crew to give him the relevant information, sometimes verbally but often on what is effectively a post-it note (one of my ideas, as was putting this in a clear plastic bag in wet weather!). We find this makes it easier for William to judge pace and make other in-race calculations, as he can glance at the info as he continues running at any point on the track circuit.
