Last Wednesday I accepted an invitation from the Orkney Islands Council to speak at the launch of their  Physical Activity and Sport Strategy 2008-2013.

The launch took place at the Pickaquoy Centre in Kirkwall.  I was one of 4 speakers.  I spoke about the role of sport in different areas of my life including difficult school days; during a medical crisis 11 years ago and then I spoke about the challenges of becoming an elite athlete whilst living in Orkney.
