Commonwealth Championships 24hr Race – Starts Today!
William will start the 24hr Race in this year’s Commonwealth Championships in Llandudno later today.
It looks like it will be a great event –
“The 2nd Commonwealth Mountain and Ultradistance Running Championships will be hosted in three spectacular north-west Wales locations – Llandudno, Llanberis (Snowdon) and Newborough Forest, Anglesey. The combined events of mountain races (Up & Down), ultra-distance races (24 hr event) and trail running (50+km off road) for both men and women will produce a long weekend international festival of running.” (Quote from http://www.cmudc2011.org/ )
While it won’t necessarily seem that way to the runners, the 24hr race is a relatively short event from the point of view of blog coverage and at this point I don’t know how much information I will be able to get during the race. William’s crewman Tim Rainey will hopefully be updating me from trackside (when he gets a spare few minutes), so fingers crossed there will be more on the blog sometime later today.
All the best,
Shaun
