BUF 6-Day Race – The half-way point in the race

At 72hrs into 144hrs, or 3 days into the 6 day race, things could hardly be tighter at the top of the field.

William & Didier Sessegolo continue to be neck and neck for first position. William passed Didier yesterday and maintained the lead for much of the night, but currently Didier has edged back into the #1 spot and leads William by a little over 1 mile / 1.5km (which is virtually in touching distance from the perspective of a 6-day race). Meanwhile Christian Ritella of Sweden in #3 is less than 25 miles behind the leaders and with 3 days left to run his challenge can not in any way be overlooked.

Also worthy of note, Bill Heldenbrand of the USA has set a new US national age group (M65) record for 48hrs – so a very big congrtulations to him!

William is also aiming to set a couple of records in this race and looks highly likely to do so at present, but more on that later…
