Australian 48 hour track Championships, Canberra

Managed 158.59 miles / 255.226 km in the 48 hours. Good enough for 5th man and 1st over 60. I’ll be claiming a Scottish age group 48 hour track record for that.

It wasn’t a race for big distances. Conditions were brutal during the days with temperatures peaking at 34 deg but worse than that was the intensity of the sunlight which seemed much stronger down here for any given temperature.

During the night I was able to do good long periods of sustained running

The facility, organisation and crew support were excellent and helped me get the distance I did achieve.

That will be my last race prior to the Sri Chinmoy 3100 Mile race in New York which kicks off on June 17th.
