Athens positions / distances at 2hr point
One of the reasons I won’t be giving hourly distances and positions throughout the 1000 miles of the race is the simple fact that the race positions and distances won’t really mean very much during the early stages – this is going to be a VERY long race… On paper, any runner could be a hundred miles behind the race leader during the early stages and yet still make up enough distance to win the race. On the other hand a runner could lead by a hundred miles and yet still fail to finish…
All this said, I will be posting details of positions and distances whenever possible, and thanks to Alan we now have some data from the early stages of the race. Here are the race positions and distances after two hours of running – although I will point out that this may be ever so slightly misleading in some ways as all runners are listed here in their absolute race positions, but as far as the race rules go there is effectively a Men’s race and a Women’s race, and this will be refelected in the final results.
