48hr Treadmill Race 2012 – Sharon Gayter
As I mentioned earlier, Sharon Gayter of the UK stepped up at fairly short notice to replace Christina Gonzalez Garcia (Spain) in the 48hr Treadmill World Challenge race
Sharon Gayter is probably best known as the World Record holder for the 7-Day Treadmill having set a new record in Dec. 2011 with a distance of 517.3 miles (832.5 km) in seven days.
This is currently both the Women’s 7-Day Treadmill World Record and the Overall Record (The Men’s 7-Day Treadmill record belonging to Lee Chamberlain who ran 468 miles (753.24km) in July 2009).
